1. The service

Costara provides an AI-assisted application for costing and pricing handmade and small-batch products, including receipt extraction, material and product management, and pricing insights. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when you register and keep it up to date. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Costara.

3. Subscriptions, trials, and billing

Costara is offered on a subscription basis. Paid plans and any free trial terms are described at sign-up and on our pricing page.
If a trial requires a card, your subscription begins and your card is charged at the end of the trial unless you cancel before it ends.
Subscriptions renew automatically for the same term until cancelled. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Fees are billed in advance and, except where required by law, are non-refundable. Payments are processed by Stripe.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use Costara for any unlawful, infringing, or fraudulent purpose.
Upload content you do not have the right to use, or that contains malware.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service, interfere with its operation, or circumvent usage limits or security controls.
Resell, sublicense, or reverse-engineer the service except as permitted by law.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of the data and materials you submit to Costara (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the service to you, including sending uploaded receipts to AI providers for extraction as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. AI-generated output

Costara uses AI to read receipts and generate costing and pricing suggestions. This output can be inaccurate or incomplete. Costara is a decision-support tool, not financial, tax, or accounting advice. You are responsible for reviewing results before relying on them for pricing or business decisions.

7. Service availability

We work to keep Costara available and reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may suspend the service for maintenance, updates, or to protect the platform.

8. Termination

You may stop using Costara and delete your account at any time (see our Data Deletion instructions). We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the service in a way that risks harm to Costara or others. On termination, your right to use the service ends and we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Costara will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
